The Company also manufactures certain equipment and components  unrelated to road construction, including trenching, auger boring, directional  drilling, industrial heat transfer equipment, whole-tree pulpwood chippers,  horizontal grinders and blower trucks. The Company's subsidiaries hold 106  United States patents and 53 foreign patents, have 41 patent applications  pending, and have been responsible for many technological and engineering  innovations in the industry.
