We commenced business operations in 1984. ASM Lithography Holding N.V. was
incorporated in the Netherlands on October 3, 1994 to serve as the holding
company for our worldwide operations, which include operating subsidiaries in
the Netherlands, the United States, Italy, France, Germany, the United Kingdom,
Ireland, Belgium, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, China (including Hong Kong), Japan,
Malaysia, Israel and India. In 2001, we changed our name from ASM Lithography
Holding N.V. to ASML Holding N.V. Our registered office is located at De Run

In May 2001, we merged with SVG (now part of ASML US, Inc.), a company that was
active in the Lithography, Track and Thermal businesses. In December 2002, we
announced the termination of our manufacturing activities in the Track business
